    Second Phase!

Following on from Phase 1, this again was an extremely challenging project. The initial priority was to to achieve Planning and Listed Building Approval, dealing with the initial concerns of the Conservation Architect through the construction of a model, engaging with the local counsellor and assisting the Client in presenting to the Planning Committee.

The design involved demolishing earlier ugly flat roof extensions, rebuilding part of the existing gable in a new position, and replicating design elements such as stone lintels, copings and the same unique horizontal stone banding.  Internally, the extension provided a new kitchen / living space with vaulted ceiling, a guest bedroom and wet room and a mezzanine playroom for the clients’ 4 year old son.

The Planning Committee passed the scheme unanimously and commented on its high quality.  Since its completion it has also attracted attention from Pevsners and is in the Warwickshire section of the Pevsners Architectural Guide.
